Oh what a beautiful morning...
We woke up along the shore of Lake Malawi and enjoyed the quiet reflection the camp provided. There is a different feel to the south as the lakeside villages do not have a shortage of crop and the lake provides for fresh fish, as partaken by many of us last night.
The roads are another story. We are all surprised that our van is still running after the jarring miles we have traveled. The shocks must need replacement often. Many a close call with goats, cattle and pigs as they commonly cross the roads.
Four of our women left at 5:45 am yesterday to work in the Mobile Medical Clinic - a 32 seat bus that travels to a feeding center monthly to provide care to those who have no other way to receive it. They saw over 100 people in extremely cold and windy conditions. The most prevalent ailments were malaria and respiratory problems.
Today we head to Mvuu camp to conclude our retreat. Pray that the hippos stand down :)
Love to all
